From vision to reality: the key moments that shaped SAPB
Continental Recognition
ROX wins Bronze at the African Beer Cup.
SAPB becomes the first Cameroonian brewery to receive an award at the African Beer Cup, confirming the excellence behind every bottle.
We’re proud to announce that ROX has won the Bronze Medal at the prestigious African Beer Cup 2025, held in Cape Town, South Africa. The competition brought together over 260 beers from 14 African countries, judged by an international panel of experts.
Partnerships
Expanding responsibly.
SAPB constantly expands its distribution network. From Douala, to Edea, to Buea, Tiko, Mutengene and Limbé.
As well some special agreements were made to make ROX available at most of the service stations of Douala, such as Bocom, Blessing, Neptune, Tradex, BG Petroleum and Tank Oil.
ROX Officially Launched
A new taste enters the market.
In 2024, ROX, our Swiss Premium Pils, was officially launched in Douala. Brewed under the principles of the German Purity Law of 1516, ROX is made using only three essential ingredients: malt, hops, and water. This commitment to purity ensures a crisp, refreshing beer of exceptional quality.
Proudly brewed and bottled at our facility in Dibamba, ROX is crafted with pure malt and 100% made in Cameroon. It stands as a true symbol of our dedication to quality, tradition, and local pride.
At SAPB, our mission remains clear: to craft high-quality beer for Cameroonians. From sourcing the finest European ingredients to upholding strict production standards, we are committed to excellence in every bottle.
Laying the foundation
Construction begins.
The construction of our brewery began in Kendeck, Douala. In just 15 months, the SAPB factory was built. A 1,200 m² facility nestled on the edge of the Cameroonian nature.
The journey wasn’t without obstacles. The global pandemic and its economic aftermath slowed progress, but never weakened the determination behind the project.
Today, we are proud to say the brewery is fully operational. The dream is no longer just a vision, we are brewing the very first Swiss-quality beer, right here in Cameroon.
Visionnaires
The vision takes shape.
In 2018, our founder took the first decisive step toward his long-held dream. After testing a successful pilot brew in Europe, he launched a limited batch in Cameroon. The result: 30,000 bottles of Visionnaires sold in Douala, a German Pils.
This was a promising sign that the vision could become reality.
Motivated by this encouraging response, plans moved forward.
A vision was born
Where the dream began.
During his first visit to Cameroon, the Swiss entrepreneur Eser Karatas was instantly captivated by the country’s rich, energetic, and colorful culture. What struck him most was something he shared deeply with the locals: a love for a fresh, well-crafted beer in the afternoon.
Inspired by this connection, he began to dream of creating a local beer, brewed in Cameroon, for Cameroonians, that would meet the highest international standards.
What was once a fantasy soon became a clear vision: to build a world-class brewery rooted in quality, community, and shared passion.
